Polishing of mould spares is a crucial step in the manufacturing process to ensure the quality and performance of the moulds.

1. Initial Grinding: The surface of the Mould spare is ground to remove any imperfections, tool marks, or irregularities.

2. Rough Polishing: Coarser abrasives are used to further smoothen the surface and remove any remaining scratches or roughness.

3. Fine Polishing: Finer abrasives are used to achieve a smoother surface finish and remove any remaining imperfections.

4. Buffing: A buffing wheel or polishing pad is used with polishing compounds to achieve a mirror-like finish and improve surface shine.

5. Final Inspection: The polished Mould spare undergoes a final inspection to ensure that the surface finish meets the required specifications.

The polishing process is essential for Mould spares as it helps improve the release properties of the Mould, reduces friction, prevents defects in Moulded parts, and prolongs the lifespan of the Mould. Additionally, a smooth surface finish is crucial for achieving high-quality Moulded parts with excellent surface quality.
